Craig, so nice to have you back, um I think,, well, ya it is. You and Johynstixs are the ones that keep this forum fun.But on a serious note, I was asking about apraisal info because as you know I bought that Ludwig Educator kit last year. Since then, the only other person that I know that even owns one is Bermuda. I have been to the Chicago show and just last week at Rockin Robins in Houston and the guys I have talked to at both events have never even heard of them. So it would be interesting to see what Steve Maxwell says about them. Where are you in your studies?Sorry to hijack this thread, I will stop here.
Well, since I did kind of hijack the fellows inquiry: First off, get pictures posted ASAP. For a true valuation, listen to what the experts on this site tell you, but you must post the pictures with lots of detail. Especially of the hardware, closeups of the shells, etc...
Jeff: There is a fellow selling a set of 'Educators' on eBay now... he's had them there for a week or three, and lowered the price I believe. Unfortunately they are kind of hacked... maybe one rack tom missing, at least it's a double tom post in the pictures. Other things are missing as well, lugs come to mind, and some 'T' rods maybe. Without referencing the pictures I'm thinking it's a blond kit with some original plastic hardware done in a 'Club Date'-ish fashion.
The project: Wow... I have collected tons of information, and continue to do so. Just about the time I think I've got enough to correlate into something useful, I find another anomaly in the production process of the day, and attempt to track it down. Add to that the continuation of the remodeling... nearly done, two bedrooms and a bathroom to go, then carpet. Add also my normal laziness and proclivity to procrastinate... But it's still going on! (so's the lazy part!)
I really am thinking I'm getting lost in the minutiae, and am going to wrap this up. I do still have a couple folks I want to talk to... folks that were around at the factory at the time.
