There is a 1967 13" Tom on the bay right now for not that much...150. Looks in excellent condition. Could be a nice pick up to interchange with the 12. But great kit. Sucks about the holes in the wrap. Still a good buy.

^I have been eyeing that auction all week long. Final bid ended being $229.01. I may have overpaid somewhat, but it was too close of a match to pass up. Not sure what I will do with the beat up 12. I imagine I will scavenge the muffler and install it on the 13.
After spending a week with this kit I am pretty happy. The 12 sounds ok even though the wrap isn't flush with the bearing edge at all--on either side of the drum. It is perhaps less resonant than it should be but by no means unusable. I wonder if it is possible to glue the wrap down near the bearing edges (or if it is even worth the effort).
