Nsra65 _ First off, your math is wrong. LevonPurdie-StarrGadd was nice enough to direct you to a link where the heads ARE available _ where you can enter the sizes and quantity into the shopping cart and calculate the cost.

Perhaps you didn't see the cart, or perhaps you may have felt that putting stuff in the cart was a commitment to BUY - it is NOT - you don't have to go thru checkout and Pay for the stuff if the calculated price is too much.

Anyways I did it for you _ the Total price for ALL of the sizes you listed with both a 16" and 18" floor tom {you were undecided} _ and Two 22" Bass Drum heads, front and back _ was $180 bucks shipped to your door.

Now _ while not $300 _ $180 bucks is still a lot of money to me and I would suspect for many of us _ but outfitting a drum kit with ALL NEW drum heads IS expensive _ regardless the specific choice, when talking about getting quality drum heads.

You can get a whole set of new ATTACK heads for considerably cheaper {like around $70 bucks I think} and from what I've read they sound quite good _ but are just not as durable over time.

Lastly, your reason for wanting these heads. that you are tired of plain white heads, no way to clean them, ect. ...

Well thats news to me _ I clean the heads on old drums I pick up all the time, its not hard to do _ use a solvent for any tape residue _ all you need is a laundry sink, good old fashioned Dawn dishwshing detergent, a little Comet for the tough spots, a bit of elbow grease, and you have a clean head.

If the heads are not all dented and dinged up and still sound good _ USE THEM.

I've even considered recoating my snare drum heads with white automotive primer _ not exactly for the appearance sake _ but because I like using brushes _ which are not as effective once all the textured coating is gone.

I haven't actually tried that yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Look Nsra65 _ being broke is NO fun _ but drumming, if you really have the gift _ isn't really about the money or having the swankiest drum kit at all _ its about a passion for the rhythms _ and I happen to believe that that passion is GOD given _ and combined with a bit of dicipline with oneself _ a GIFT.

You might be a fabulous drummer with a broke-ass cheap kit and still make it sound wonderful, just in the way that you _ SMACK IT.

I usually refrain from giving advice to anyone _ but I'm going to now _ if you are feeling a bit un-inspired because of the shabby appearance of your drums _ break down your kit _ CLEAN ALL THE HEADS _ shine em all up _ polish the chrome.

If you don't like the wornout appearance of the heads after they've been cleaned _ try my suggestion with the automotive primer {perhaps only on one at first to see if it works} _ and then put em all back together _ and PLAY THEM SUCKERS.

Doing just THAT alone will lead you along a path to _ where you might never know _ but it will recommit you to focus on _ USING WHAT YOU DO HAVE _ and forgetting what you don't.

Sorry for the lecture Brother _ but you needed it my friend _ and not only you _ for all that I have said applies to myself too, and really to all of us.

Wishing you a good day today Nsra65 _ on this Thanksgiving Day _ and my sincere hope for your better tomorrows.

Best Regards

Ohm
