My 1925 Wilson Bros. snare has arrived.

Does anyone know where I can find a drum key (5/16"?) for this drum? Are there drum keys out there this size?

The common-sized t-rod for most drums is on the left here - Wilson on RT.

And.........does anyone know what's up with this port hole - second photo? Did the drum key once fit into this?

This is an amazing drum. I will tuck new calfhide on it. I haven't even touched it yet but I want to get it to the playing stage and use it......carefully of course. I don't know if the hoops are original or have been restored....but they are in beautiful shape.

Hmmm, I may have something. You say the measurement across is 5/16"?

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I'm wondering too at this stage.

Bought it on ebay a few weeks ago - arrived yesterday. The seller had no information about it other than it was an Estate Sale. I emailed him to see if he could dig up some history for me but no answer yet
