Luddy Supra - Student model? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

So I just acquired what I believe is a late 80's Supra, Monroe badge, in near VERY good condition. What is weird to me now after I got it is that it came with the UFO case, the vacuum practice pad, and a stand. I was under the impression that only Acrolites came in this setup. Did they market/sell the Supra as a student snare kit? Was it an upgrade? Did this Supra just end up in this case somehow over the years? The seller said the drum has been in storage for a long time, that it was her sisters in school back in early 90's I believe.

Now I only assume it is a late 80's model due to 1) Monroe badge and serial number (#3XXXXXX), and 2) knob tone control. It's all original, so there is no tampering. No black face on the P-85.

Any ideas or input appreciated, as it is bugging me how a Supra is in this case.

Thanks!

supras were available in student style kits just like the acrolites were. your assumption on the age is probably right on target. the large keystone Monroe badges came along in 85 or so.

Cool...so when did they stop with the internal knob muffler on them? Something tells me this might be newer than I think, but again, the serial and the stand tell me older.

not exactly sure on that. I think it was mid 90's when the mufflers were eliminated.
