Ludwig 1400 Flat-Base Clamp Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Can any of you Ludwig experts tell me if the clamp circled in the pics I've attached was factory-issued on the company's 1400 cymbal stands? If so, any idea what years it was used?

THANKS in advance for your time and your help!

I am not a ludwig expert by any means, but can tell you that that is a factory set up. I recently acquired 2 Ludwig kits, one a 65 and the other a 67 and both kits came with stands with the same clamp as yours. I'm curious to know from the experts on the dates these were used.

that pic on the right is completely a factory setup. used at least in the late 50's/early to mid 60's.

I have two 1400 stands. The top one I bought new in 1966, the lower one new in the very early (72?) seventies.

Still use them both.

agreed. I read recently that ringo had one of this type and then the next design from the later 60's.
