Ludwig 26" Bass Last viewed: 20 minutes ago

Hello Everyone!

Was wondering if anyone out there may have or may know someone who is willing to sell a Ludwig 26" Bass Drum. I've got a 6 ply and want a three ply with reinforcement rings instead.

I'm mainly interested in the shell, so whether it comes with the hardware or not is fine by me. The finish doesn't matter as I'm thinking of re-wrapping it.

Extra holes are fine as well as long as they aren't too big.

Thanks very much.

Joe, I have a 6-ply 26" Ludwig I'd like to sell in case the OP decides to keep his original drum.

Hello,

Thanks to all who posted, I appreciate it.

Vintagemore2000, I would be interested in your zephyr. Is it a maple shell? Any extra holes in it? And you say it already has Ludwig lugs on it?

I guess as long as it's close to a 26"x14" Ludwig shell I would be happy with it.

How much did you want for it?

Thanks

JoeT, thanks for your interest. I'm thinking of holding on to my 6 ply at the moment. At the time of purchase I had no idea who the original owner was (I was just answering an ad) when I finally received the bass drum (which is a virgin in mint condition by the way) it came with a nice letter and a pair of signature drumsticks. The former owner was Bobby Rondinelli (Quiet Riot, Blue Oyster Cult, Rainbow, Black Sabbath). I found out later that he lost out to replacing Peter Criss in Kiss to Eric Carr because Carr's vocals were better.

Anyway, I just wanted the drum because it was what I was looking for at the time and ended up getting a little piece of rock memorabilia as well.

Take care.

From vintagemore2000

It is a ludwig . Willam F Ludwig that's what WFL stands for. it has no extra holes it is maple on the outside and mahogany on the inside, popular in the middle. it's a virgin bass drum, maple hoops it';s a complete drum and uses clamp on spurs, here is a pic of the drum.I'm only selling the drum, not the spurs, or the modern Remo heads that are shown on it. $200.00 + ship cost

*No claim-jumping intended... I just want to grab the 'on-deck' spot if you don't buy this drum. JV

Mark, If he don't take you up on your offer... I will! Put me down as the Ace-in-the-hole.

Sweeeeeet drum! I'd build a 'Levon Helm' around it!

Hello Vintagemore2000,

No problem if you'd like to keep the heads or the spurs.

Two questions I have, would you have hoops that would allow for inlay to be placed in them? Would Ludwig classic lugs fit these same holes?

Thanks

I agree, it would probably be best if John owned this drum as he would end up keeping it in the same condition it's in now. I wouldn't feel right if I were to start messing around with it, would rather it go to someone who would appreciate it more in it's present condition. He seems to want it just the way it is.

Thanks very much for offering though. I will keep looking.

Thank you and take care.

It's all yours John! : )
