I saw this while browsing my local ads this morning. First time I've see a 26" flanged hoop!

I have seen plenty of large double-flanged bass hoops, but never a large, modern triple flange hoop. The single and double flange hoops were used quite often on basses mounted on band organs in the early 20th Century. I have one such bass:

So Ludwig must have offered marching basses with optional triple-flanged metal hoops at one time. Interesting. Has one ever appeared in any catalog?

Ludwig did indeed make 26" triple flange rims! My guess is someone pulled the rim off an old set of marching toms. According to the catalog scans under bass trios, there should be 24" and 28" triple flange rims out in the wild as well.

Weren't these drums called Timp Toms. I had one but it was 14x26 with small classic lugs on one side.
