i really like to know which year my set could be.

maybe you can help a little. hope so.

some facts:

- 22/16/13/12 (does that automatically mean 'big beat'?)

- 6 ply

- rounded blue/olive badges

- serials 127XXXX

- black panther wrap

the serials say 1976 <-> rounded badges introduced in 1979(?)

! and there's a sticker inside the bd - could anyone 'read' it for me?!

Interesting sticker, I never seen that one before.

The badge looks like someone cut it themselves. I say that because the edge trim isn`t equally as thick spaced as it rounds the corner. The BD mount has been reinstalled.

just my thoughts. I have minimum knowledge of Ludwig badges though.

I've seen a number of badges that are a little uneven like that. I don't know what they were up to, but I'm sure Ludwig did it themselves.

I agree it`s entirely likely Ludwig cut them with hand snips before the new rounded badges were available.

Model number 922 is used on 14x22 bass drums. Not sure on the other numbers

The 127XXXX serial number range is quite low for the initial rounded corner version of the Blue/Olive badge. This often appears to have been accomplished through hand trimming of the pointed corners. It could be an early example or something someone did on their own.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
