My beloved '66 Ludwig kit. Buying this kit was the real turning point for me. I still have have some 'modern' snares and a custom kit, but I am more and more connected to my vintage gear. You guys maybe know what I mean..

I know exactly what you mean!
I've kept my first kit, a 1963 Ludwig SBP, and have never been able to part with it. The newer kits simply don't have that effect on me.

Beautiful. Same here.
When I look at my '66 Champagne Sparkle Luddies vs, my DW's I am still drawn to the former. And I've only had them for a short amount of time.
Nostalgia perhaps, but they do seem more classy in finish and hardware to me.
