Ludwig Acrolite (80s) - hoops made in Taiwan? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hi, there! I bought a Ludwig Acrolite Snare (USA) (80s) But on the upper hoop there is a stamp Taiwan. The bottom hoop looks absolutely identical, but no stamp. The seller said "all original". Is that so? I would appreciate any help. Thanks a lot!

I've had several Acrolites with that same hoop. Initially thought that it was aftermarket until I saw others. Could very well be original.

The one's that I have had were the rounded corner badge models and from the 80's. The last run before the Black Galaxy Acrolite debuted.

Yep, I've had a couple with the Taiwan hoops and both were from the 80s which, IMO, was not a great time for Acro production as far as quality went, particularly lugs that break far too easily. OTH the Blackrolite seems a whole lot better on the quality front.
