Wow , t'was a long time since my last post...

Juste this one to share with you the last treasure i catch.

the first one is an Acrolite pre serial number (60-63) in very good condition. It' a gem!

Second one is a woody Ludwig Standard 1964 N° 16597 (February 24, 1964 12,219 - April, 1964 31,505...i was born on April 14 1964 !)

very nice sisters, good with my Ludwig 1968 Black Oyster;

(and the price for the both was so indecent... i wish that for all of you, drums afficionados!)

Happy New Year!

Bravo Mon Ami!

I caught one a few years ago and it became a "non tradable" & one of my "all time favorites" snares!Yes Sir

Not sure -left glasses into the car DOH- but Acro's top hoop seems like COS instead of original aluminum....I'm right?

Cordialment

Nice looking drums. The Acrolite looks like a prototype / early version.

I do not think that the your Standard is as old as you indicate. It looks like you are using the Ned Ingberman/Vintage Drum Center serial number chart for Keystone badge drums. Ludwig Standard drums had a different sequence of serial numbers which did not align with the main line (Keystone and Blue/Olive badge) drums. Based upon some work that I have done with Ludwig Standards, I would estimate that your Ludwig Standard snare with serial number 16597 would be from about the 1969 time frame.

Yeah, Standards were introduced around 1968 so your snare wouldn't be from 1964.

Very cool pair o' snares.

Ok, thanks a lot.

What do you mean, KC as prototype Acrolite?

The shell is very strange, i only saw "smoth" shell on acro. This one had little engraved motifs...(but it's not engraved, it's ...i don't know what... :) )

Do you know more about this?

The Standard is very nice and sound great (as the acro) , my other ones on the pic are a very good early 80' COW 6.5" Ludwig Rocker and a Premier 2000, early 80' . Both Sound great.

(i paid the acrolite...20 euros !!!)

Love your new snares! Here are a couple of pics and a small post that I made awhile back concerning the early Acrolites like yours.

20 euros is fantastic.

See Mlayton's post about the early acrolites. Everything I know about them I learned from his posts.
