were there ever if any of these made 6 and 1/2 deep by 14 and what is the main difference between a Arcolite and a supra is it just the chrome? are they both ludaloy? thanks..

Yes they did make 6.5x14 Acro`s. Supra`s are 10 luggers.

The Ludwig Acrolite 6.5x14 IS a 10 lug drum as well(not an 8-lugger like the 5x14 Acrolite)...Not Chromed,are the Acro's(polished,or anodized finished shells),and fixed with bowtie lugs! Otherwise pretty much the same drum as the Supra...OH,but the 6.5x14 Acrolite is very,Very,VERY RARE snare !!! Supposedly,Only 200 made(the vintage ones) and NOW,back in a full production run,and available for time-to-time on ebay,and directly from your Ludwig dealer,finished in Black Galaxey !!!

So the silver finish is quite rare then.... that explains why you hardly if ever see one..... and the new ones are finished in Black galaxy yuck no thanks Hmmmmm trying to find a really peeled supra or a arco i believe they are the same shell just a different finish.. thanks

Supras and acros are exactly the same shell,so if you want a 6 1/2x14 acro...get a supra that pitted badly,and strip the chrome off.Then polish the shell,and put acro bowties on it....bingo.Instant 6 1/2 x 14 vintage acro.
