The Ludwig "Combo" sets were a lower cost line they did in the late 70's early 80's. It seems to have been kind of a way to use up older parts and shells that were sitting in stock. This included some vistalite shells.
Very neat to see that! I bought (and still own) a Blue Vistalite Combo kit back in '03. It was complete with all hardware but missing the floor tom. It took me TEN years to find one. My kit had the original plastic lugs. I stored those and put classics on it to be able to tune it properly without fear of breakage. Some later on did come with classic lugs. These kits used the same shells as the regular Vistalite line and even though they were concert toms, the bearing edges were finished on the bottoms as well. Shown here with just one tom and some creative cymbal mounting!

If you know anyone looking for another blue floor tom, let me know. I am going to sell this one as I have no need for it.......
