Hi, i bought Ludwig Black Beauty 14x6.5 with a silver badge. There is a "82" graven on it. Can anyone identify this badge?

I've only seen that particular Ludwig badge on stainless steel drums. But it is real.
Hi Cinek,
Nice drum
Do not see to many super sensitive BB.
Vintagemore2000 is correct in saying those badges have been seen on stainless drums.
I also have a Acro with that badge and think they were somehow put on from a specific pile of badges but cannot seem to find out what the real deal is.
A usual Ludwig mystery. Date wise I would say 1997 - last production of the BB 2nd edition which i can't seem to remember that either.
Well that wasn't much help so I will shut up now.

Hello and welcome Cinek,
It would be interesting to know if your shell is steel with the black nickel coating (rather than the expected brass or bronze). If it is steel then a magnet will stick to it (because steel is a ferrous metal).
If it is brass or bronze (and of the right time period) there should be a B or BZ stamp either above or under the tone control knob. Although with Ludwig, anything is possible.
From what I can remember the details of the Super Sensitive mechanism changed over time, and you might get a closer fix on a date from photographing the details.
I was only thinking late 70's due to the pointy badge.
