Hi!..I wonder if anyone knows the answer to my question. I recently acquired a Ludwig Black Beauty 14 x 6.5 with the Monroe badge. It had a triple flange snare side rim which I assumed was original. But, the batter side rim appears to be a vintage Ludwig chrome over brass thicker rim which has written on it "Ludwig Patent Pending". Because it says "patent pending" and it doesn't match the other rim, I am assuming that I have an older rim and was wondering if someone can tell me perhaps what year the older rim would be from.
