JohnnyRingo, where are you located? I believe I am now the current owner of this very set (minus the tom mount) FYI

If i'm historically correct, JohnnyRingo was from Tombstone, AZ. Falling Do

Currently working on a 7 piece virgin double bass 3 ply early 70's Ludwig kit to be wearing....MOD ORANGE.

Since it has been already publicly posted, by JR, he lives at or near San Antonio, Texas.

That makes sense since I'm in Austin. I would love to know a bit more about the history of these drums (and where the mysterious tom mount went)...maybe I'll PM him directly.

Thanks!

I sold that kit to a guy in Austin, I'm guessing you're not him. When I bought the kit there was not a tom mount, no big mystery, besides, I'm sure you can find one on ebay.:)

I am not the same guy in Austin. I don't care about the tom mount, was just curious as it is shown in the photos of the OP.

I'm a newbie with vintage drums, so I would be curious based on your experience, on your thoughts on the overall condition of these drums. To my ears they sound great, and although they have some cosmetic issues, I'm happy (for now). There do seem to be a few issues, especially with the reso bearing edge of the kick, and possibly some round issues??

Any info as to the history of these Luddies is much appreciated!

I only had the kit for a few months, I played them at Sunset Station in San Antonio and the soundman said they sounded great. The drums did have some cosmectic issues, but I don't know if they were out of round, I never had any problems fitting heads or tuning them. I sold them for $500, how much did you pay?

Im a little stunned. These drums look great and im sure they sound amazing. Why did you sell so cheap?!!

I sold them cheap because of the cosmectic issues. Contrary to what some might think around here, I don't try to rip people off, I price my kits lower than most would. The Rogers kit I'm selling, in my opinion, is a steal for $500 shipped, yet I get no interest, go figure.

Well, the next time you have another one like this at this price, PM me! I'll be in the market for one in a couple months.
