Ludwig Classic Floor tom bracket rubber gasket Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Hey Ludwig folks..I need some info regarding the modern Ludwig Classic floor tom

bracket rubber gaskets that are 1 1/4" thick. I was thinking of possibly installing them

on my '78 Ludwig floor tom brackets, with it's intended purpose of clearing some space

so the rims don't touch floor tom legs. Shell is 6 ply, but i'm afraid the mounting screws

won't be long enough to get through the metal washer, 6 plies and then 11/4" gasket.

Any info would be helpful.. Link to the gasket in question.

Cheers,

Rob

Those brackets are only 1/4" thick, not 1 & 1/4"...

If your screws are too short, they are easily replaced. Take one to a hardware store and purchase 6 more that are 1/4" longer.... pretty sure they are standard (as in not metric) thread.

The part you are referring to is the P16581. Just go to eBay and search "ludwig spacer" and you'll find them. And, yes, they are 1/4" thick, not 1-1/4". I believe the thread size is 8-32. Just measure the length of the existing screws and add 1/4".

Here's a picture of the gasket attached to a floor tom bracket on a Maple Classic kit I had.

The link you gave to DrumsOnSale is also correct.

Thanks for the info guys..And yes, you guys are correct it's 1/4"..

I didn't realize that the ad for Drums on sale was stating that it was 1(item) of 1/4"DOH

Drums on sale charges $30 for shipping anyway..So much for that..
