Ludwig downbeat piccolo lug movement Last viewed: 1 hour ago

So i'm sure that all of you downbeat piccolo owners up here have had the same minor "problem" with the side lugs (forgive the "unofficial" term for that lug type ;))moving up and down after tuning.. I've tried several tuning techniques to resolve this problem, such as even tension tuning from top to bottom simultaneously, and it really doesn't make that much of a difference. Drum sounds great and stays in tune.. Call me picky, but is there any other way to resolve this issue ?

I've noticed this many times, lugs pulled out of alinement, they really don't have much choice, as tension is not equal, opposite each other, kind of a poor design.

Yeah mine are all over the place. But the snare still sounds ace!

That's what i figured.. I still love it though.. It gives it character ! I guess when you see them in pics and the lugs are aligned straight it probably hasn't been tuned yet or is just tuned lower..
