Hi again!

Well I pulled the bass drum apart and found that it has been cut down! Why in the hell someone has done it is beyond me, but I won't let it stop me! Whoever cut it down has put the re-ring back in with screws. Once the hoop was off I could see where the lugs use to be. The actual cut was made in line with the original front hole for the lugs.

On the front hoop that was totally black and what I thought was a paint was actually a black contact, and when I removed the contact I found the inlay still in all its glory!

As someone suggested it might be cool to find an orphan kick or something along those lines down the track.

I took the added hardware off the 13" tom as well and had a look at what the extra holes are like. Should be able to sort them out I'm thinking with a bit of work. The tom also needs a new muffler and bottom hoop.

The floor tom and snare are great and really just need a good clean. The floor needs a bottom hoop too.

I've attached a pic of the premier hardware I got with the kit for you to see, Im not sure what era it might be from!? I don't know a whole lot about the Premier gear.

The first digit is 6 on the 2002 hats, so I'm guessing they're from 76.

There's also patent numbers on the inside of the hats, can anyone tell me about them?

Yes,hats are 1976

You have Lokfast models stands from Premier..it will say on the bottom of them...

I got a hi hat just like that for $20 off eBay recently! Hard to find!

I guess they didn't make them all that long...

I have 5 of the cymbal stands, with another to arrive soon! Can you tell that I like them?

Re the BD..I would put that in the rubbish bin ..BUT..maybe you can get some of the finish off to use to plug holes..taking the badge off too.

Then,find a shell,or complete drum on Feebay..same year,of course..

Shane, now you know the kinds of deals that go down in the US all day long for people.........it's crazy....

Shane,

Hope the price was right..

The rest of the kit are for sure a great set of projects, such a pity re the BD..

How much of the shell was missing.. curious..

Maybe you can make a couple of Wall Hangings or lights Etc.. similar to what we see on here from time to time.. ??

Cheers

John

I think he should soak the BD after removeing the trimings, let that wrap let go,...There are people here wanting for a piece big enough to wrap a snare or two, maybe even a tom tom !!

I`m serious,..it will sell !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Yeah, I love these stands too. I only have one cymbal stand but I'm always on the lookout for a couple more. I prefer them to my modern stuff. I have a hihat stand and it's excellent too, and recently I picked up a snare stand and it's really compact, sturdy and has nice adjustment. Some of the best of British engineering.

I'll see what I decide with the bass drum, something is still telling me to work on it and see what it sounds like in the end. I'm always after new and unique sounds, so if the bass can be turned into something I can use in the studio I'll do it.

The prics was really good longjohn. I swapped an electronic kit I was given about 6 years ago (that I don't use) for it. So I haven't t really paid anything Clapping Happy2

Blaindrums those crazy deals are one of the reasons I'm heading over there next year to do some searching around as well as some playing while I'm there.
