Ludwig general Q ... Last viewed: 5 hours ago

I will be selling one of my 60's Ludwig Silver Sparkle kits - & no this is in no way to advertise it here in the least.

The Q is simple : The SS is collector quality w/ slight darkening. All are #'d 330,000-340,000. Am I being picky @ popping a supra in the 69000 range with it? How many of you all are anal when it comes to #'ing? I'm leaning toward marrying it to the kit since its a supra. I'd personally never marry a collector kit with a drum that is way off badgewise -

To me...the toms and BD are more important when considering ser.#range. As long as the snare drum has the same badge, it wouldn't stop me from buying a mint Luddy silver sparkle kit with the supra from the 60s. Love to see some pics.

I wouldn't turn up my nose at it if the Supra wasn't within the numerical sequence.

I agree with all of the above... adding the out of sequence supra won't make a dif. 'Condition' is what really counts in determining value in any sale or negotiation. Besides, Ludwig badge numbering in that era was a fly-by-night operation. The workers would grab a handful of badges out of a barrel and put them on the drums they were working on. It's more common to get out of sequence numbered kits, (widely disparaging numbers,) than it is to find kits with (close) sequenced numbers.

Good luck with your sale, sounds like a really nice set of drums. You'll find a good home for those I'm sure.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
