Wow "mfry55", like so many knowledgeable folks on this forum, you don't miss a thing! I've often wondered why my BD is a 20", but it is. A review of the original Hollywood sales brochure clearly shows a 22" as standard equipment. I guess they boxed up whatever they had coming off the line on that cold Chicago day back on January 10, 1968. My set of soft cases also were made for a 22" BD. It the words of an old dumb drummer, "Beats me".

Maybe someone ordered it that way. Are the serial numbers matching, or at least, very close? Too cool.
