Hi,
These are advertised for (what I believe to be) cheap. What can you tell me about this Ludwig bass and floor tom? The bass seems to be 20" by 14" and is it likely the floor tom is 15"?
Thanks
The floor tom definitely looks like a 14, maybe a 16. I’d bet dollars to donuts it’s not a 15. The proportions are all off.
For reference, here’s a 15 and a 16 taken at the same angle, more or less.

The drums look like someone did a number on them with removing the wrap. The bass drum is missing the badge and it looks like they either moved the consollette or they drilled holes for something else. Tough to tell on the FT if the shell is cracked or if it is damage from the wrap removal. Not sure what they are asking for the 2 drums but the bowtie tension rods can be a bit pricey as well as the BD hoop and the period specific FT hoop. If your going to re-wrap it, then it should be easy enough to fill the voids and wrap over. If your thinking of staining the kit, that would entail a boat load of work to get them to look nice. Let us know how you make out and then of course share some before and after pics.

They're asking $100 for the two. Is that a good deal? I'd use them as a beater kit.
They measure the bass as 19.5" by 14" and the floor tom 15" by 16". I'm thinking that means 20" by 14" and 14" by 16", possibly 16" by 16". Does 20" and 14" floor tom make sense for a jazz kit? 1950's era? Does the white interior look original?
Here are the pictures. I was being careful that someone might find them through pictures and snag em.
Floor tom pictures.
I dunno. Might cost a lot more than they’re worth to get them in playing condition. $100 seems steep to me.
I would snag them in a hurry, in Canada the rail mount goes for $100. by itself!
the 8 club-date rods & claws = $80. any day
if its a14" floor its worth a few bucks
only problem I see one is club-date, other classic
