Hi

I am helping a friend sell on 70s(?) Ludwig kit but I am not sure of its value. The snare looks better then average so any help would be great. I cant track the serial on any of the lists up to now so can anyone help please?

It looks like a late 1970s/early 1980s set. More information and pictures would help. Sizes, condition, etc...

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

More pics would be helpful, so forum members can determine a value based on condition, or if any, missing parts, etc.

Good point guys, thanks for your advice.

I have uploaded more pics that hopefully tell you more.

The sizes I think are 12,13,16 (not sure on depths)

All holders/lug boxes etc are intact and working.

There are dings on the drum covers but the shells look in good shape.

Does that help?

I'm hoping to get my hands on the kit to get more info if needed.

It's an 80's model kit with 6 ply shells, modular hardware, Power mounted toms. the snare is a model 400 supraphonic.

Looks to me as a prob. 1980's Black Cortex finish - 6 ply (maple-poplar) no re-rings shells - w/ Modular hardware set, prob. Big Beat configuration w/ Power size toms.

Some clues to determinate your date are:

Modular hardware (intro. during 1980); 6 ply Shell; double 1/2" retracting BD spurs, rounded corners B/O badges, and serial num range of course.

Well preserve Supra LM400 (prob.81-82) from same era as well.

Yes some of the HW is premier.

There is a speed king pedal too but the heel plate is missing.

Not sure if that is something that can be fixed but I'm sure everything is worth something to someone!
