Hey everyone

I'm going to order a new ludwig legacy (custom), but I'm still hesitating of wether I should take small or the large classic lugs?

I like them both.

What would you take.

It's definitely a personal preference, but here's how I feel.

I have a downbeat Ludwig kit (20", 12", 14") with Mini Classic lugs, but if I had a larger kit like a 22", 13", 16" setup I'd prefer the Large Classic lugs.

Again, just depends on the shell configuration in my opinion. Here's a pic of the kit I have with Mini lugs(sorry for the bad lighting). :)

Hope this helps!

My kit that I'm going to order is 14"x26",10"x14", 16"x16", 16"x18".

Would I go for the Large classic lugs on all of them?

Yes, by all means.

IIRC back in the day Ludwig used the large Classic lugs on everything

except the 12" rack toms and some of the deeper snares - those got

the small Classics since the size of larger lugs tended to look 'crowded'.

Hope this helps.

+1 on what he said!

You didn't see JHB using no small lugs on his kit,did ya? :-)

Ludwig never did the same thing once, which is why on my '58 Ludwig kit my 12" rack tom has the large Classic lugs on it.
