Sorry All,

Realize this doesn't make the vintage cut. Not having any luck finding a SN# dating guide. Picked this up today. Snare is mint, case and stand.

Will clean up just fine. SN#6204761.

Thanks!!

$75. is right in the old wheelhouse for that one. It's the modern version of the Acrolite. I've never played one of the new ones. How does it sound in comparison to an older Acro? Same/different?

The guide won't help with serial numbers that high,as that info wasn't recorded by Ludwig. The price is right though.

John,

Don't know. My first Luddy :-) Couple of the reviews say the powdercoat kills the extreme bright.

Steve B,

Thanks, that is what I was finding out. Funny, a Luddy from the 20's easy. Best I can find on these is they show in the 92/93 cat.

Still in production?? $349 seems to be normal internet price. Folks don't pay that!!

Well, quick review. Bad first. Rims (COS) and chrome on same are low grade. The throw and butt plate mounting hardware leaves much to be desired. Not well taken care of going to be grade 4 quick. The shell powdercoat will collect dirt without a few coats of wax.

Nothing wrong here that couldn't be upgraded. Any suggestions for replacing the rims?

Here is it MicroFibre towel Dawn detergent cleaned. Followed by quick wax. Don't have time for a complete teardown. At $75 great spare snare drum. Wouldn't pay any more.

If you want to put some of the 'bright' back into the drum try a set of die-cast hoops and see how it affects the sound. Let me know if it gets better, or worse with the die-casts. Interesting experiment.

Will do.

Got a big laugh. Neighbor plays so said check out the new toy.

Set it on his porch and it set off both of his car alarms.
