It seems like I saw a reference to a person who sells reproduction Ludwig lugs. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm looking for small classics and maybe gaskets. Thanks.

Ludwig holds a copyright or patent on the lug design so repros are not available. Lugs are available new still through Ludwig dealers though....
....But they aren't exactly the same. I have a set of drums that was custom made for me by Rob Kampa and I requested large Ludwig Classic lugs -which he procured new from Ludwig. To see them side-by-side the vintage ones, there are slight-but-discernible differences. They most certainly have changed the original castings.

They have changed eve so slightly.....its in the spacing of the lines on the bottom face. The castings were retooled sometime in the late 90's to use the springless idea and they didn't get the line spacing quite right.....
The casting process ever so slightly wears the tooling over time also and new tooling is regularly produced from a master as old tooling is retired. There are also multiple cavities in production at any one time. This explains very subtle differences that you see in lugs. If inventory is controlled fairly well you will not see much difference on a particular drum or kit, but over time you will.
