Ludwig Mufflers needed ?? Last viewed: 19 hours ago

Loading...

I just picked up a set of Blue Oyster Pearl Ludwigs with the pointy B/O Badge and need mufflers for all 3 toms. They have the larger of the 2 mounting holes on the top. My question is, what is the correct mufflers for this set, Small knob, Large knob, etc.... Also if anyone knows the year they were manufactured, serial #'s are all in the 990xxx. Thanks, Joe

Ludwig was running two different mufflers that I know of (probably more) during this time frame (70s). Both were almost identical. The thing is, the mounting was just slightly different on them. One had a more "relaxed" feel on the tension. The other placed the screws closer together which put more tension on the unit.

youre probably looking for the large knob mufflers for those. just check your mufflers holes. wherever the larger hole is, is where the knob part goes through. the smaller hole is for the small machine bolt that goes through for the mounting. there are usually some on ebay. they have been running in the 20 ish range each..

If you don't need to be historically accurate, Pearl makes a similar looking muffler that mounts easily in the Ludwig toms for about $5 each new.
