I bought a Ludwig OBP Clubdate kit online recently. It's a 12-14-20 with a Pioneer snare. When asked if the shells are original and 100% not modified, I was told that except for the following the kit is in great shape overall and original:
-Missing bass drum front hoop
-Floor tom has a replaced bottom hoop
-Needs new heads
-Missing 2 wing bolts for bass drum spurs
When I got the kit, I discovered the following:
-Bass drum interior was painted black
-The Pioneer snare, the prize of this kit was also repainted white as is evident by the fact that all lugs screws are painted over.
-Floor tom replaced hoop was actually a 14" bottom snare hoop
-Missing wing nuts for kick drum spurs as expected
- Bass drum and snare reinforcing rings shows sign of separation from shell but not too too bad.
So, the question is, what impact in collection value expressed in $-value and/ or % reduction in $ -value does all the above has on the kit?? If you want a reference $-value I can tell you that recently on Ebay, I've seen a Pioneer in the same OBP finish and in perfect condition sold for $695 and a Clud Date kit without any missing parts or mods from a reputable seller took a few relist and finally sold at $1295. This survey is very important to me so I'd appreciate some honest input on the reduction in value and/or what you think the kit is worth to you, knowing what you now know in comparison to the pricing sold on Ebay as mentioned above.
I'm hoping to get some feedback within a week so please don't hesitate to post your input.
Thanks in advance.
