I have a 60's Pioneer and it's 5 1/2'' deep.

I thought Pioneers and Jazz Festivals were the same 5'' deep shell, just one is 6 lugs and the other 8.

Am I off my rocker?

All my pioneers are 5.5". My jazz fests are 5, 5.25 & 5.5".

I think my JF is about 5.25'' as well.

All of my 'normal' Super Classics are about 5.5'' and my Ray McKinley's are about 6.5'' deep...

Same shells just drilled differently. Ludwig seemed to play fast and loose with shell depths...then again they seemed to play fast and loose with almost everything they specified in the catalogs back then.
