all that being said, I would kill for an octa-plus sized set in CoW, deep sizes, modular harware, laquered inside, silverdots, 16 lugs on the 12&13" 20 lugs on the 14&15", four curved spurs on the kicks with big-ass 1" dia. pipes destroying all resonance, besides that's what reverb was for.ok I've returned from my trip back to the 80's let me wash the Aqua-net outta my hair.it's just too bad you cant fit a drum set in Doc Brown's DeLorean.

I have a Ludwig Classic kit in White Cortex, six-ply shells with laquered interiors, modular hardware and deep toms (8-lug 13"x12", 10-lug 14"x13", 8-lug 18" ft) with Silver Dots, 24" kick with four massive spurs, and a CoW 10-lugger 8"x14" Coliseum snare. They are the bee's knees, friend. Best rock and roll kit I've ever owned.

Currently playing for loud rock and roll gigs:
1982 Ludwig Classic in white Cortex, 24-13-14-18 + Coliseum snare
For quieter gigs:
Early '70s Whitehall Tiger Eye Pearl 20-12-14-14
Neglected but thinking about:
Early '70s Sonor Champions in Rosewood, 22-12-13-16

I hope those are going to be a stationary kit,I had some of those and they weigh a ton, like sonor sig's.

400.00 to 500.00 would be fair, the lugs and mounts and t rods and claws would be worth pretty close to that.

My preliminary thinking is ditching the rivets and making a one-up\two down kit by adding reso heads to the 16” and 14” concert toms since the reso bearing edges are already existing. Maybe red sparkle? These drums aren’t from Ludwig’s “golden era” so I’m not necessarily worried about devaluing by performing modifications. But yes, 6 ply are still heavy no matter if you have one or eight!

That is going to be difficult. Getting those aluminum bands off the bottom without damageing the edges may not be easy. I have a couple of those toms and just now looked at them closely. Those bands overlap the edge and are riveted on with several rivets into the wood. Probably not a good idea???

I hear ya, once I get them in my possession I’ll have a better idea whether or not I want to attempt cutting off the beauty rings and add reso heads. I’ll probably decide to leave them as is…I just get crazy ideas sometimes.

im going to chime in here the concert tom is not exactly the cats meow but they are making a come back look at the drum show new green fiberglass concert tom reminiscences of the ol octa-plus set so enjoy and if u mic them do it from inside the bottom of the shell a great project enjoy

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
