Would appreciate any general thoughts on this set. Anything not original, obvious problems?

Thanks

Jim

Looks like some sort of water damage in the close up pic of the inside of the bass drum. Also, the cover on the outside of the bass is beginning to peel back. Bass hoops are in bad shape, but paint can fix that. assuming that they are not cracked anywhere.

Floor tom inside looks to have some sort of mold inside. If it is surface mold, it can probably be cleaned,,,, but another indication that it has been wet. The wrapping is coming off on the outside of the floor tom.

Even the rack toms appear to be water stained on the inside.

Im no expert by any means, but personally, I wouldnt sink any money into this kit. Especially at the price of 600 bucks. That's just me though..... and you also have to think about the missing parts it needs as well (tom mount, bottom rims and tension rods, etc.)

One other thing to mention.

When drums are missing bottom hoops, there is a good chance that the bearing edges will be damage as well. This is from the drums being put on the ground/in transit. Without the bottom rim to protect the bearing edge, they are usually damaged in some way.

I have a process where I restore the colors and refinish. These are REALLY faded and that alone is gonna be a huge chore. we're talkin one side of the BD is not only the greens but the blues and the reds. Then there is deep purple involved.. . . . Whew I 'm dizzy just thinkin of it. ON TOP of the potential structural issues mentioned above. Yes Sir
