On the newer Monroe badge drums is it normal to see a 10x14 with 2 badges and grommets i was looking at a drum and it had two badges is this normal or maybe a hack? Thanks

Yes, quite common. Ludwig did that so you could mount it either "left handed" or "right handed" and still have the badge show toward the audience.
