Ludwig "Sure Fire" machine Last viewed: 13 hours ago

One of the vaudeville sound effects listed as an early Ludwig product, is the Ludwig "Sure Fire" machine. Noted as being "16 shots". This would have been cataloged around 1918-1926.

Does anybody know what this item looked like, and how it worked?

A few other effects also intrigue me. One is a Carnival Rooter (for crushing effects and cracking timber), and also the Nose Blow Imitation and the Snore Imitation.

Any of these in your collection?

Funny I was looking at this in the VDF guide the other day. Thinking it was pretty cool and used blanks. 16 shots in all. http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/percussion_sound_effects_gun_shot.html

Is this what your thinking about?

Glenn.

That answers my question!

I simply did not look in the right section of the vintage drum guide pages.

If you used that in a public place these days, you would probably cause a panic.
