Large Monroe, NC Badge? If so, that puts it into the 1980s at earliest.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72

If its a B/O badge it has to be after 77,because the BB was only reintroduced in that year.Production was stopped prior to WW II,and the BB was not a production item till 77.

If it's a B/O badge it's early 80's I think. There's no way to tell for sure since there are no serial number records after 79,at least not from Ludwig.

be careful. i bought an uncut b/o badge black beauty recently with serial number in that range. ended up being one year old. i should have noticed by the details on the strainer and lug gaskets. serial number made me think it was older, and worth more..

Another clue would be if there is a muffler. The 70s-80s had them but I have not seen them on the newer drums with the B/O badge.

The lowest serial number I have seen thus far on a Monroe Large Keystone badge is 3142879.
