Johnny - it -is- a good example! I'll tell you why; you see how the top of the badge on the 6.5 is 'finished', it shows a continuous silver border around the badge. The one photo you posted that shows the badge on your drum is a little fuzzy. It's hard to tell from just the photo if your badge looks 'finished' (the redesigned foreshortened Ludwig company badge) or simply a normal badge that was 'cut-off' (rough cut edge, no silver border on the top of the badge,) only you can tell that by taking a close look at it. You tell us... is it factory or another do-it-your-selfer butcher job?
If it's factory... you have a wood shell snare drum with a cut badge that was intended to be used on supra's and acro's, drums with a central bead on the shell. If it's a factory cut badge, it just adds a bit more interest to your drum and gives it a unique feature that the new owner can tell other drummers stories about!
