Ludwig Snare Year Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Hey guys, I'm looking at a Ludwig snare and I'm not sure at all what year it is. Not a lot of information on it. Here's what I do know, the badge is a b/w slanted and the serial number is 6,2xx,xxx. Any information would be very helpful! I doubt that drum is vintage but I can't find any information on Ludwig badge numbers past 2,xxx,xxx

Looks like this drum quite a bit:

That's a Ludwig acrolite, could this drum possible be an acrolite?

Edit: I have attached a picture of the exact drum I am looking at. Looks quite a bit like the acrolite I posted in the thread right?

Definitely looks like an Acrolite, although your picture only shows part of a drum. I assume it has a Ludwig badge and strainer on it.

Great drums.

The black powder coated versions like that were first made in the early `90s.

They regularly sell online used for around $150 with a case, often times a little less.

Many of them are in "like new" condition because they were sold as a student drum, and lots of students did not stick with drum lessons very long.

Lots of gigging drummers use and love their Acrolites.

the one in the main photo is the 14x6.5 model and are reasonably rare but the one you are looking at is the standard 14x5 and very common. These are probably the cheapest of the Acrolites to buy. They can commonly be bought for under $100. A really good drum but some don't like the heavy powder coated finish compared to the earlier models that have no finish or a thin paint finish.
