Hey guys;
Always appreciate the help I get from you experts here on VDF. As I'd mentioned in a couple of previous posts, I acquired a few kits from a public school that wanted to upgrade to a newer kit. One of the kits that was included, was this Ludwig kit. Tried to identify it through the regular channels but found I was coming up a bit short. From what I can estimate, it's probably, early, to mid eighties, but I can't tell whether it's a 'Standard', or a 'Rocker', or what. It's got the Standard lugs, and granitone painted interior, but it has no re-rings and the rounded black, white, and silver badge. Checked the catalog page, (in the blue section) and it doesn't quite seem to match, particularly the higher placement of the spurs. Hoping for some informed insight from the bros.
I believe it was originally 5 piece, but I only got the 22, 13, and 16, as well as one decent Acrolite snare, and a super-sensitive, that's missing some crucial hardware, (I may address that later). My plan is to restore it as best I can for resale. It has some serious fading on the wrap, as well as some pretty good tom rash, so my plan was to re-wrap it with the vinyl, Easywrap stuff, (I know, I know, but it's not a real high end kit, and I won't get the return on it for a proper re-wrap). Found a nice champagne glitter on ebay that I plan to use - also considering giving it a fill job, for the 'virgin kick drum' effect, with the rack tom mounted on a separate stand. Posted a few picks - hoping I can get some input from the gang as to what I'm dealing with here, and maybe a ballpark value. Thanks.
