Ludwig Standards-Dual Internal Mufflers? Last viewed: 28 minutes ago

Loading...

Hello,

Does anyone know if some Ludwig Standards (or any Ludwigs from that era for that matter) had dual internal mufflers on the toms (one on each head)? I know some Gretsch Round Badge kits had internal mufflers on each head.

I saw a Ludwig Standard tom on sleazebay that had the internal muffler intact, but had identical internal muffler holes directly below it for the other head (holes only). Could this be factory or is it definitely a homemade job?

See below:

Thanks,

V

Exactly. Standard's could be ordered with any number, or type of add on hardware. Eons ago I met a fellow that owned a Blue Strata (think) Standard kit that had a rail mount for a single rack tom. He had a clear head on the back of the bass, and I confirmed it. It had never been drilled for a regular post mount.

That makes me wonder if you could order regular Ludwig wraps -vs- Standard wraps back then.
