Here's something you don't see often in my part of Canada..

Absolutely MINT, 100% all original Ludwig Super Classic in Gold Sparkle.

A Zildjians, Paiste cowbell, bass drum pedal, hardware, heads, cases, hex and tuning keys..

Sitting in it's cases in a closet since '69 !!

Unfortunately, i know for a fact that this will not sell locally, unless there's a vintage Ludwig drum player who either won a small fortune in the lottery, inherited a lump sum from his rich uncle, or a 60 something drumming retiree going through a midlife crisis..LoLoLoLoLoLoLoLo

Well the price keeps climbing for minty drums

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I got a similar "time capsule" set with A. Zildjian cymbals a couple years back for $900...so you just never know.

Lots of great kits on Kijiji and with the exchange rate for the US side of the map it is worth the deals if you can find them and of course if they will ship. The gold kit is a beauty and to have all original stands, pedal, travel cases, etc along with the cymbals for a rich kid is a great way to get a beautiful vintage kit. $2700 is a bit much in my opinion even with all the amenities.

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Pretty cool. Not my favorite finish, but pretty cool nonetheless. My '63 Super Classics in WMP were $1200+ for a 3 piece only, but although they are in very good condition, they are far from mint. The snare to complete it was a recently purchased '63 Jazz Festival snare from the Bun E Carlos collection. Like some Jazz Festivals Ludwig used a 5.5" shell for mine rather than a 5" shell, so it sounds more like a Super Classic snare.

Hi Mike ! Yeah, it is a bit much.. He's now lowered it to $2100, still with the OBO.. If i were to make an offer it would be without the Supra, and i'd offer him $1300..Might be a bit of a lowball, but not too many guys are shopping for this type of kit who can actually afford it..

It's a shame.. I'm sure eventually he'll let it go for a decent price,

but i won't be the one bringing it home :(

cheers,

Rob
