Some guy in the neighborhood sells a Ludwig super sensitive 14x6.5.

He asks 500 euro for it.

Everything looks correct, they are fairly rare in this size. Does the shell have any pitting on it,? From the photos it looks to be in very good condition.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

500 Euros comes out to about $550. US. Excellent price for a drum as clean as that one. 6.5 deep SS are hard to find in that good of a condition. If it was here in the states, I'd buy it in a New York minute!

You do know it's more of a concert/orchestral drum! It's going to sound drier and it'll be much more articulate than a regular snare. It's unforgiving in terms of technique, you can hear every tick and stroke clearly. It'll force you to clean up your drumming! I love SS and that's a nice one. Go for it.

Too many great drums to list here!

Yep. Just saw this thread and was going to say pretty much the same thing about the articulation. I don't think I've ever seen one used other than in an orchestra or concert band. Perhaps that's his intended use, or maybe he's just a collector. One other thing to add to that is if he's going to gig with it, he'll need to purchase a special case to accommodate the snare mechanism, unless the person selling it is including one in the sale.

You also can use it for 60s/70s prog rock no?

I mean Cozy Powell and Carl Palmer also used it...

Even Don Henley used it... (I din't like his sound but)

With the right tuning you can do everything with it... I think...
