Upon closer inspection, I found this date stamp, but unfortunately it's right on top of the Reliable Anti-Galvanic stamp. Maybe someone can make it out? Also, is that a cursive A? What does that mean?

Nice super sensitive.

I think that is a Q not a cursive A. I've got one in one of my snares, although it is a bit older. I suspect that is a Quality inspection test. Somebody else may know for sure.

As to the year... I agree that it is 1969-70 and drilled for a keystone badge. The blue/olive badges sat too low and that's why the bottom had to be cut off. I have a Jazzette from that transition time and the 12" tom has a blue olive badge with a hole which was drilled for a keystone badge thus it looks a bit low. And I can't make out the year in the picture. Pity, as it would be further confirmation. My guess would be 70 not 69 because March 23, 1970 would fit with the transition time better than March 23, 1969. I've recorded a bunch of drums with date stamps (and their badges and serial numbers) around that time to pin down the date a bit after getting interested because of my own drum kit. There are published lists on this site, but of course new evidence keeps coming up all the time.
