Ludwig Vistalite Hoops Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Does anyone know if Ludwig first used silver sparkle inlays on their Vistalite hoops or if they were matching color first? I've also heard about "silk" inlays?? Maybe someone could help me out with a catalogue scan of the first Vistalite run? David?

They used different inlays for different colors and I think it may have changed up some through the years. I think they started with silver sparkle for clear, blue and green; gold sparkle for amber and yellow; not sure about red, I think it may have always been red silk, I don't think it was ever a sparkle.

My clear Vistalites have a silver sparkle inlay and the blue and white Vistalites have a white inlay.

When I tighten up my Batter bass drum head, Some of the the lug screws tend to rub onto the metal rim of the head. is it because of the wooden bd hoops not being perfectly round? And how can i prevent this from happening?

Do you mean the tension rods? That could be caused by an out of round hoop, not sure exactly what your case is on that. It shouldn't be an issue, assuming the rods are tight. If you have a clicking happening you might try placing something between the rod and the head hoop to muffle it. Even a small piece of electrician's tape around it at the area it crosses the metal should suffice.
