From Slawincjusz

But what about the badge??? Blue Olive cut was only till 1979?From http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/:1.Blue and Olive Cut Badge - First in the line and was cut to fit on Drums with the center bead. (Supraphonics with this badge have shown up and they have been brass shells)2.In 1971-‘72 Ludwig also used B & O Badges without Serial Numbers (LVDC)3.Blue and Olive Cut Badge with rounded corners. This was on a Black Beauty Snare Drum from the late 70's4.Started using this late 70's (1979) due to complaintes from the pointy badges above getting caught on things and bending. My is for sure, sharped corner no.1

I got nothing for that part.

I guess Ludwig never really considered what to call an Acro wearing Supra clothes.

Is it seamless ?

Then it`s more Supra than Acro. It only has one Acro feature, six lugs.

There were countless custom ordered drums that left the factory, most wont have a series or serial number. We just call them collectables.

The Acrolites and Supras used the same aluminum (Ludalloy) shells but the Acro's got punched for 8 lugs while the Supras were punched for 10 lugs and chromed. One theory about these 8 lug "Supras" is that some shells punched to be Acros accidentally got chrome plated. Rather than tossing them in the dumpster, or making chrome acros, Ludwig opted to finish them out as Supras. Chances are they would have made a "deal" to some dealers or school systems to move these out but back then people might not have even noticed the 8 lug configuration. One possible explanation anyhow. They do exist (as do ten lug Acrolites) but aren't especially common which lends more credence to their being produced by accident.
