I just found a 26in. Ludwig 3 ply bass drum to go with my Slingerland 3 ply WMP kit (going to replace the 22 bass for certain gigs). I am also going to be wrapping it in WMP to match the toms. For purely asthetic reasons, I like to have a logo on the front of my bass drum. Do you think I should leave the Ludwig badge and keep the logo on the front head or replace it with a Slingy badge/logo just for consistancy (even though it's really a Ludwig drum)?
Ludwig/Slingy Hybrid Question Last viewed: 2 hours ago
I wouldn't change the Badge on the drum for sure or the Bass head. If I was to do anything I'd get a drum head with the name of the Band for all to see.

Agreed, do not change the badge on the drum. Also, I would keep the Ludwig logo head, because everyone knows Ludwig > Slingerland :D
Hmmm....maybe then I'll just switch the Slingerland badges on the toms with Ludwig ones. Lol Are they the same size grommets?
If you're really concerned about it put a Slingerland logo on the head. Don't see the need to switch the badge out. Its not like someone is gonna come up to you after the show and criticize that the bass badge doesn't match the toms.
Also everyone knows Slingerland > Ludwig ;-)

In general, please don't change badges on vintage drums. Besides, anyone who cares that they match isn't going to be fooled by a Slingerland drum with a Ludwig badge.
