Ludwig/WFL Bass drum? Or in fact anything to start my vintage collection :) Last viewed: 14 hours ago

Hello everyone,

I haven't bought any vintage drums ever and I want to start :) I'm looking to get a 50's WFL Bass drum and a floor Tom? But really I'm happy to get whatever you wonderful people have left in your sheds or garages :) I know everyone on here are nice and won't rip me off. I'd be interested in 3 ply with re rings (only because I played one once and I liked it :P) I'm happy to take whatever you have to sell to a noob that is good quality, I don't want to fix up a kit just to realise that it isn't good as my über beginner 90's no-brand :) I'm want a good experience restoring some vintage drums, a players kit, nothing special.

Thanks

Seb

P.S. I live in Australia so shipping will be fun

Or perhaps a bass drum to match this '54 Slingerland Floor Tom?

I think I've got my facts correct, there's no badge, but around the vent hole there is a Slingerland shaped mark. The wrap seems consistent with the WMP wrap of '54 as it says on this site.

I've emailed you, vintagedrumbug :)

Thanks

Seb

Seb, The floor tom you posted in NOT a Slingerland drum. It's a made in japan-{M.I.J.} late 1960's Pearl made tom. Why the jegs mounts and lugs show me this.A photo of the inside of the shell would also tell me this....Mikey

Sorry mikey,

As I said, I'm very new to this kind of thing, I'm only learning still. I found this at school today and jumped to conclusions I suppose :/

Thanks for the info on that, I'm very impressed you could tell that!

In that case, scratch my last post, but I'm still looking for a bass drum or floor Tom or both :)

Thanks

Seb

So this drum at school is a copy of this?:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Slingerland-14-x14-Floor-Tom-Drum-WMP-Serial-46824-/150951761141?pt=Vintgae_Drums_Percussion&hash=item23256d14f5

I randomly stumbled upon this while on the US ebay just then, what do you think?

Thanks

Seb
