Were Slingerland drums ever made in Japan or another country than USA & if so what years?

Yes I beleive they started in the late 80's. Made in Taiwan. I don't know the full history....BUT.....click on the Slingerland Drums link under " Vintage Drum ID" section under the forum header. This should give you a pretty good outline on the US and imported lines over the years.
