Two parter:1. I will climb on the 24" lovefest, with regards to my SSB 24. Very much a players' quality kick, of no interest to collectors. It has always sounded the bizness.2. Your Premier "tom": did the same thing last month with an old Carlton marching snare. I had no luck, and no hope apparently, of finding the original interior snare mechanism (Rose Morris). The wrap was remarkably beautify (BDP) considering all the minute cracks threading through it, and the lugs and rims were great. So I threw some legs on her and it is a delightful little floor tom.Patrick
On #1: I love player drums!!! Nobody really seems to care much about marching stuff, and it's usually built like a tank. I am with you on the 24" kicks sounding the bizness.
On #2: My Premier toms are real toms. The floor tom had no hardware to speak of, and I had to fashion a means to mount it. I just rigged a stand mount, which is okay for now. I may even get the isolation floor tom mounts for it, as it can tip over on a stand quite easily.

Nice looking kick.I like 24 x 14 kicks too.I have never had any luck with a pinstripe on any kick I have owned, and I have gotten other people that were having problems with their kick sorted out by taking the pinstripe off and replacing it with just about anything, but I have always had good luck with the SK series.
Thanks. I don't know what is different about this drum and it's relationship with Pinstripes. I am usually a HATER of Pinstripes on kicks, at least.
