I think on certain things like this kit , collectible value should be put a side . if one was to buy a so so 70's b/o ludwig kit and put out xtra moula to get them in that condition , you would be far ahead of the game by buying this kit at 550 obo . i stand on thinking the money there if you wish to un-load the drums down the road .

The guy selling these goes by the Ebay name of "Mrfathead" . He sells a lot of stuff, is very knowledgeable about gear and market value. He usually lists drums over market value..... I too talked to him , but in my opinion there is a reason he's selling them so cheap. Again, he knows what he's got and for some reason these are going (or already went) cheap.
i agree that 200$ would not be a deal killer , and i would still be in . but leaving the us going to canada shipping , broker fees and now are infamouse hst tax at 13% on top of all that = deal killer . BUMMER
I neglected to observe your location, eh. That can get pricey..

When I originally contacted the current owner he was more than helpful in providing requested information (including serial numbers) as well as shipping costs to my residence. I can also say that the costs provided were more than fair.

Not NAFTA Bill - (although it's no great shakes) it's the hand-off from one postal system or private company to another that helps bump the cost. Adding in the costs of involving a second (Canadian) carrier almost doubles the fees. Then, there's the taxes...
Did anybody snag the kit?

Yes he was helpful when I inquired too. I imagine most people are when they are trying to sell something. The thing is, when I see something being sold under current market value by a seller that usually sells items on or above market value, there is a reason and one should proceed with caution. Definitely try to see the drums in person if possible. If those drums are still available I would be surprised and wonder why such a great set of drums at an appetizing price would linger this long.....the drums have been on sale for a few weeks now.
