Masking tape removal from cymbal Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I recently came into possession of an old Zildjian mini cup20" ride that has a strip of old masking tape on the underside that is turned a color black and is not peal able to get off-anyone know the best way to remove something like this? Thanks......

you should try Goo Gone. You can usually get it at the dollar store

Goo Gone or or adhesive remover. Either one will do the trick and not damage the cymbal. But let it soak and wipe it with a cloth. Don't use any steel wool or scrapers.

Use WD 40. You will be surprised! Let it soak for a few minutes and then wipe with a cloth.

Plus: It doesn't hurt the cymbal.

No matter how you get it off there will be a cleaner spot.

Also u may need to clean the Cym (personal preference) but Mother's would be the best.

Thanks for all the advice and help-I have an 18" version of this cymbal and I cant believe the guy I bought the Vistalite kit threw in this 20" mini cup-I like it a lot!!!!

Thanks for all the help-I was able to get the tape off with some wd40 and some elbow grease......if anyone is looking for this cymbal let me know as I am probably going to sell this one since I have one already....
